CT390 automatic counterfeit banknote detector

Automatic checking or visual UV inspection?

An automatic banknote detector feeds and checks individual notes, then gives a result to the operator. A UV lamp reveals fluorescent security features so staff can inspect them by eye.

For a busy till, consider an automatic counterfeit detector. For visual checks of banknotes and security documents, compare the UV lamps and handheld checkers. The right choice depends on your currencies, transaction volume and staff checking procedures.

Automatic counterfeit detectors

This type of fake note detector checks several security characteristics within each banknote. The CT390 and Smart Protect Plus support Bank of England, Scottish and Northern Irish notes, as well as Euro, US Dollar and Swiss Franc banknotes. Confirm the installed software and currencies with Cashtec for your application.

Smart Protect Plus automatic banknote detector

Smart Protect Plus

Automatic checking with an addition mode

Checks a banknote in approximately 0.5 seconds using infrared, magnetic, metallic thread, size and colour detection. Suspect notes trigger an audible and visual alert.

Addition mode records the quantity and total value of accepted banknotes. Software updates use a microSD card or compatible update cable.

Best fit: fast individual checks with a running total of accepted notes.

UV banknote lamps and handheld checkers

UV note checkers reveal ultraviolet security features for manual visual inspection. They do not give the automatic acceptance or rejection result of an electronic banknote detector.

When checking Bank of England notes, inspect another key security feature as well as the UV feature. See the Bank of England banknote checking guide for staff guidance.
